VOLUME 05:

domaine

VORKURS: domaine seeks to explore place-making and the role of boundaries within the ever-changing field of architecture. The French term domaine translates to realm, place, or field. It is within this interpretation that we expand on the continually evolving narrative VORKURS has developed through the past four volumes.

Ouvrir le domaine de la culture d tous; se trouver dans le domaine de l’hypothese, de l’impossible; explorer le domaine rel de l’experience.

Open the field of culture to all; to find oneself in the domain of the hypothesis, of the impossible; explore thereat realm of experience

The realm of experience has looked quite different for all of us over the past year. VORKURS: domaine is a collection of reflections on the past, conversations on the present, and speculations on the future. From talks between old friends to reminiscing on long lost human interaction, these writings encourage contemplation of our role in influencing and shaping the built environment around us. How can we inhabit and activate the spaces between our boundaries?

VORKURS: domaine will continue the discussion of exploration as an experience of learning while investigating the influence of boundaries, pauses and the realms within. The curious are not limited by physical confinement, but instead are propelled forward into a profound journey through the mind.

We hope the following pages will bring solace and prompt reflections on our ever-converging domaines.
